What a year 2024 has been for me.
Twenty years down the line, if I look back at my career, I am certain 2024 will stand out as one of the most significant year of my life. Not because of any amazing wins, but because it was the year life held up a mirror and gave me clarity.
I’ve been working nonstop for over two decades. I have this bad habit of not even taking a break during job transitions. Most of my switches involved leaving my previous job on a Friday and starting the next one on Monday. (In one instance, I quit on a Tuesday and joined the new job on Wednesday!) I’m not sure why I did this, but at some point, life had to step in and give me a reality check.
🎯 2024 was that year—a humbling year where I got my message loud and clear: “Slow down, Vignesh.”
And thanks to my mentors, I listened.
Slowing down gave me the space to think about what I really wanted in life. I call it “getting off the treadmill.” This one change had a profound impact:
▪️ I understood what I wanted from my career—it was like realigning my career compass.
▪️I gained a broader perspective on making meaningful contributions beyond my job.
▪️I refocused on family time and creating memories.
▪️Sharing my experiences with young professionals, college students, and startup founders gave me immense satisfaction.
▪️I felt privileged to be part of the AI transformation—an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for anyone in technology.
▪️And finally, I began taking care of my health.
There’s been a pattern in my life: whenever all doors seem to be closing, a new door always opens—one that I never even considered. That’s exactly how 2025 looks to me. I’m looking forward to my next assignment and making meaningful contributions in the year ahead.
To everyone reading this post: I hope you have a wonderful 2025. A lot can change positively in just one year.
🚀 So keep giving your 100% every day
🚀 Goodbye 2024, Welcome 2025
