Last week, I had the opportunity to deliver a TEDx talk in TAPMI Manipal on a topic close to my heart—Unearthing the Leader in You.
Leadership is often associated with titles and positions. But real leadership isn’t about designations. It’s about traits like confidence, adaptability, empathy, and resilience that inspire and guide others.
During my talk, I attempted to correlate how these leadership traits are beautifully demonstrated in nature:
📍 The lion teaches us the power of attitude.
📍The eagle shows us the importance of adaptability and renewal.
📍The owl reminds us about the art of listening.
📍The honeybee embodies resilience and working for a greater cause.
📍The elephant builds trust with its loyalty and dependability.
📍The wolf thrives in teamwork and collaboration.
📍And the bonobo shows us the value of empathy and being human.
Nature gives us incredible lessons in leadership, often without us realizing it. My goal was to help the audience reflect on how they can incorporate these traits in their own lives.
The event was perfectly organized. The TEDx team did an outstanding job managing every detail, from ensuring a seamless schedule to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Interacting with the students was one of the highlights of my day—their energy and curiosity were infectious.
It was also inspiring to hear the other speakers share their thoughts on diverse topics. The range of ideas and perspectives made the day truly enriching.
This was my first visit to Manipal, and I was impressed by the vibe of the city. As a hub of education, Manipal is buzzing with energy, innovation, and a passion for learning. It’s no surprise that it’s a thriving place for students and educators alike.
